Indie points

What you earn for keeping the tokens you back games with on indie.fun.

What they are

Points are a score. You earn them by keeping the tokens you bought backing a game here, for as long as you keep them.

They are not money. You cannot buy them, sell them, spend them or send them to another wallet, and they never turn into cash or into a token.

Points belong to a wallet, because a wallet is what a raise can check. Sign in and you see the balance of the wallet you linked. Linking or unlinking a wallet never moves points.

Holding points
The whole award. Earned every millisecond, from the moment trading opens until you choose or the 7-day refund window ends.
A points door
Some launches keep whitelist places for wallets above a points bar. Taking a place costs no points.

How a backing earns them

When trading opens, a figure starts climbing against your backing. Keep your tokens to the end of the window and it reaches 100 points per USDC. Choose either way, refund or delivery, and it stops where it is. The launch page draws it climbing while you decide.

It climbs fastest at the start. Holding through the first hours after a token starts trading, while a refund is still there to take, says more than holding through the last hour of the window, so that is where the points are: the first day of the 7 is worth 26.5% of the award and the last day 2%, and half of it has landed by day 2.1. Waiting longer always earns more, and doing nothing until the deadline earns all of it.

Refund and you earn nothing

Points are for staying. The award is one figure, paid when your backing settles as kept, and a backing that settles as a refund is paid none of it.

What they open

A game can keep whitelist places for wallets above a points bar. A place is a head start: the first minutes of a raise belong to the whitelist, and each wallet can back up to its own cap. The bar and the cap are printed on the launch page.

Taking a place costs nothing. Your balance is a record, not a purse, so the same balance opens a door on every launch that offers one. Most will not: it is the developer's choice.

A point is not a claim on anything

It is not a token, not a share of a raise, and not a promise of an allocation. It does what this page says and nothing more. We can change the rates, and points you have already earned are never taken away.

Where to see them

The count in the bar at the top of every page is your balance. Click it to see which launches it came from. A launch you backed shows what that backing earned on its own page, climbing while the window is open. How a raise itself works is on How a launch works.
